Alzheimer’s: The Key to Early Treatment

With the first baby boomers turning 70 this year,  Alzheimer’s disease is on the rise.  It is expected by the year 2050 that more than 16 million people could be affected by the disease. With our increasing lifespan we are seeing a large jump in Alzheimer’s and dementia-related diagnosis.  According to the CDC, we have seen a 55% increase in Alzheimer’s related deaths in the last 15 years.

Early diagnosis is pivotal in the treatment process, it can provide doctors with a more accurate picture of the patient’s medical history, and give the patient more control over options for their future.  Research also shows that treatment options are usually most effective when started early in the diagnosis process.
